'And you shall not swear by My name falsely,...

DEUTERONOMY 23:21-23 NKJV
21   "When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it; for the Lord
your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin to you.
22   "But if you abstain from vowing, it shall not be sin to you.
23   "That which has gone from your lips you shall keep and perform, for you voluntarily vowed
to the Lord your God what you have promised with your mouth.

DEUTERONOMY 6:13 NKJV

those who speak lies shall be stopped.

ISAIAH 45:23 NKJV
I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not
return, That to me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.

ISAIAH 65:16 NKJV
So that he who blesses himself in the earth Shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who
swears in the earth Shall swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten,
And because they are hidden from My eyes.

MATTHEW 5:33-37 NKJV
33   "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall
perform your oaths to the Lord.'
34   "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;
35   "nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36   "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black,
37   "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the
evil one.

JAMES 5:12 NKJV
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath.
But let your "Yes" be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest you fall into judgement.

SHOULD CHRISTIANS USE VULGAR LANGUAGE?

EPHESIANS 4:29-32 NKJV
29   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary
edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
30   And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption.
31   Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all
malice.
32   And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also
forgave you.

EPHESIANS 5:3-4 NKJV
3    But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is
fitting for saints;
4    neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving
of thanks.

COLOSSIANS 3:8 NKJV
But now you must also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out
of your mouth.

TITUS 2:7-8 NKJV
7    in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity,
reverence, incorruptibility,
8    sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed,
having nothing evil to say of you.

JAMES 3:7-12 NKJV
7    For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been
tamed by mankind.
8    But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9    With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the
similitude of God.
10   Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to
be so.
11   Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?
12   Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring can yield
both salt water and fresh.

1 PETER 2:1-2 NKJV
1    Therefore, laying aside all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
2    as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
