SLAVERY
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GOD AND THOSE WHO ARE
HIS?
JOHN 1:12 NKJV
But as many as received Him, to them He
gave the right to become children of God, even to
those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of
the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God.
ROMANS 8:14-17 NKJV
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these
are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again
to fear, but you received the Spirit of
adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit
that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and
joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with
Him, that we may also be glorified together.
GALATIANS 4:5-7 NKJV
5 to redeem those who were under the law, that
we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth
the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying
out, "Abba, Father!"
7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son,
and if a son, then an heir of God through
Christ.
COLOSSIANS 3:24 NKJV
knowing that from the Lord you will
receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the
Lord Christ.
GALATIANS 5:13 NKJV
For you, brethren, have been called to
liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the
flesh, but through love serve one another.
EPHESIANS 6:6 NKJV
not with eyeservice, as menpleasers, but
as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the
heart,
1 PETER 2:16 NKJV
as free, yet not using your liberty as a
cloak for vice, but as servants of God.
2 PETER 2:1 NKJV
But there were also false prophets among
the people, even as there will be false teachers
among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even
denying the Lord who bought
them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
1 CORINTHIANS 7:21-23 NKJV
21 Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned
about it; but if you can be made free,
rather use it.
22 For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is
the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is
called while free is Christ's slave.
23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of
men.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:19-20 NKJV
19 Or do you not know that your body is the
temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom
you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify
God in your body and in your spirit, which
are God's.
ROMANS 5:21, 6:1-4 NKJV
21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace
might reign through righteousness to eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in
sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin
live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were
baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into
His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through
baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life.
ROMANS 6:11-12 NKJV
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead
indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body,
that you should obey it in its lusts.
ROMANS 6:14-18 NKJV
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you
are not under law but under grace.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under
law but under grace? Certainly not!
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves
slaves to obey, you are that one's
slaves whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to
righteousness?
17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of
sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that
form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
18 And having been set free from sin, you became
slaves of righteousness.
ROMANS 6:19 NKJV
I speak in human terms because of the
weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your
members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to
more lawlessness, so now present
your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
ROMANS 6:22 NKJV
But now having been set free from sin,
and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit
to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
1 CORINTHIANS 3:9 NKJV
For we are God's fellow workers; you are
God's field, you are God's building.
1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17 NKJV
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and
that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will
destroy him. For the temple of God is holy,
which temple you are.
