1/ PREDICTED

MATTHEW 16:21
21   From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer
many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the
third day.

MATTHEW 17:22-23
22   Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be
betrayed into the hands of men,
23   "and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up." And they were exceedingly
sorrowful.

MATTHEW 20:18-19
18   "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief
priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,
19   "and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He
will rise again."

MARK 8:31
31   And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by
the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

MARK 9:9-10
9    Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one
the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10   So they kept this word to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.

MARK 9:31
31   For He taught His disciples and said to them, "The Son of Man is being delivered into the
hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day."

MARK 10:33-34
33   "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief
priests and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles;
34   "and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day
He will rise again."

LUKE 9:22
22   saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief
priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day."

LUKE 18:31-33
31   Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and
all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be accomplished.
32   "For He will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon.
33   "And they will scourge Him and put Him to death. And the third day He will rise again."

JOHN 2:19-22
19   Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
20   Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up
in three days?"
21   But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
22   Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this
to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

JOHN 6:51
51   "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live
forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

JOHN 10:17-18
17   "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
18   "No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I
have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father."

2/ THE EVENT

MATTHEW 28:1-8
1    Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the
other Mary came to see the tomb.
2    And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
3    His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4    And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5    But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek
Jesus who was crucified.
6    "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7    "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going
before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."
8    So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples
word.

MARK 16:1-8
1    Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
2    Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun
had risen.
3    And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for
us?"
4    But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away- for it was very large.
5    And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right
side; and they were alarmed.
6    But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He
is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
7    "But go and tell His disciples- and Peter- that He is going before you into Galilee; there you
will see Him, as He said to you."
8    And they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And
they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

LUKE 24:1-12
1    Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women
with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2    But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3    Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4    And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by
them in shining garments.
5    Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you
seek the living among the dead?
6    "He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
7    "saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and
the third day rise again.'
8    And they remembered His words.
9    Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10   It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them,
who told these things to the apostles.
11   And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
12   But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by
themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

JOHN 20:1-18
1    On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark,
and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
2    Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said
to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have
laid Him."
3    Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
4    So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
5    And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
6    Then Simon Peter came, following him , and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths
lying there,
7    and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded
together in a place by itself.
8    Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
9    For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10   Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.
11   But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked
into the tomb.
12   And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the
body of Jesus had lain.
13   Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they
have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."
14   Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not
know that it was Jesus.
15   Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing
Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have
laid Him, and I will take Him away."
16   Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).
17   Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to
My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and
your God.'"
18   Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had
spoken things to her.

3/ WITNESSES

MATTHEW 28:9-10
9    And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" And they
came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
10   Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and
there they will see Me."

MATTHEW 28:16-17
16   Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed
for them.
17   And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted.

MARK 16:9
9    Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene,
out of whom he had cast seven demons.

LUKE 24:13-51
13   Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which
was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14   And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15   So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with
them.
16   But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.
17   And He said to them, "What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as
you walk and are sad?"
18   Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, "Are You the only
stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?"
19   And He said to them, "What things?" And they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of
Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
20   "and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and
crucified Him.
21   "But we were hoping that it was he who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this,
today is the third day since these things happened.
22   "Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us.
23   "When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels
who said He was alive.
24   "And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had
said; but Him they did not see."
25   Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets
have spoken!
26   "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?"
27   And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the
things concerning Himself.
28   Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would
have gone farther.
29   But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far
spent." And He went in to stay with them.
30   Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke
it, and gave it to them.
31   Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
32   And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on
the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"
33   So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those
who were with them gathered together,
34   saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"
35   And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to
them in the breaking of bread.
36   Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them,
"Peace to you."
37   But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.
38   And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39   "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not
have flesh and bones as you see I have."
40   When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
41   But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, "Have you any
food here?"
42   So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43   And He took it and ate in their presence.
44   Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the
Psalms concerning Me."
45   And he opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
46   Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer
and to rise from the dead the third day,
47   "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem.
48   "And you are witnesses of these things.
49   "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until
you are endued with power from on high."
50   And he led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
51   Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up
into heaven.

JOHN 20:19-21,24-29
19   Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut
where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and
said to them, "Peace be with you."
20   Now when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were
glad when they saw the Lord.
21   Then Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
24   But Thomas, called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25   The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them,
"Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
26   And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the
doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!"
27   Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your
hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing."
28   And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
29   Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those
who have not seen and yet have believed."

JOHN 21:1-14
1    After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in
this way He showed Himself:
2    Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and
two others of His disciples were together.
3    Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you
also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
4    But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not
know that it was Jesus.
5    Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No."
6    And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So
they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
7    Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon
Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged
into the sea.
8    But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two
hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish.
9    Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and
bread.
10   Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."
11   Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and
fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.
12   Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast." Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, "Who
are You?"- knowing that it was the Lord.
13   Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.
14   This is now the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the
dead.

ACTS 1:3-4
3    to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being
seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
4    And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem,
but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me;

ACTS 1:9
9    Now when he had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud
received Him out of their sight.

I CORINTHIANS 15:1-8
1    Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you
received and in which you stand,
2    by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you
believed in vain.
3    For I delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4    and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
5    and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
6    After that he was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain
to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
7    After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
8    Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.

4/ FALSE POSITION TAKEN BY THE JEWS

MATTHEW 28:11-15
11   Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the
chief priests all the things that had happened.
12   When they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money
to the soldiers,
13   saying, "Tell them, 'His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.'
14   "And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will appease him and make you secure."
15   So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly
reported among the Jews until this day.

5/ WHO RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD

ACTS 2:24
24   "whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he
should be held by it.

JOHN 10:17-18
17   "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
18   "No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I
have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father."

ROMANS 8:11
11   But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

JOHN 2:19
19   Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

6/ CONFIRMATION OF THE EVENT

MATTHEW 28:5-7
5    But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek
Jesus who was crucified.
6    "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7    "And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going
before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

MARK 16:6-7
6    But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He
is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
7    "But go and tell His disciples- and Peter- that He is going before you into Galilee; there you

the third day rise again.'
8    And they remembered His words.

JOHN 20:12-18
12   And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the
body of Jesus had lain.
13   Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they

your God.'"
18   Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had
spoken things to her.

LUKE 24:44-47
44   Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the
Psalms concerning Me."
45   And he opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

and to rise from the dead the third day,
47   "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem.

ACTS 2:23-24
23   "Him, being delivered by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken
by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
24   "whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he
should be held by it.

ACTS 2:32
32   "This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.

ACTS 3:13-15
13   "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus,
whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him
go.
14   "But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
15   "and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

ACTS 4:10
10   "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here
before you whole.

ACTS 17:2-3
2    Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them
from the Scriptures,
3    explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and
saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ."

ACTS 17:31-32
31   "because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the
Man whom he has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
32   And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We
will hear you again on this matter."

ACTS 26:23
23   "that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would
proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."

ROMANS 4:24-25
24   but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord
from the dead,
25   who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

ROMANS 6:5
5    For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in
the likeness of His resurrection,

ROMANS 6:8-10
8    Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9    knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has
dominion over Him.
10   For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that he lives, He lives to
God.

ROMANS 8:11
11   But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

I CORINTHIANS 6:14
14   And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

I CORINTHIANS 15:12-19,32
12   Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you
say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13   But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.
14   And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain and your faith is also vain.
15   Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He
raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up-- if in fact the dead do not rise.
16   For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
17   And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
18   Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19   If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
32   If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If
the dead do not rise, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."

II CORINTHIANS 4:14
14   knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will
present us with you.

II CORINTHIANS 5:14-15
14   For the love of Christ constrains us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all
died;
15   and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who
died for them and rose again.

EPHESIANS 1:19-20
19   and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the
working of his mighty power
20   which he worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated him at His right
hand in the heavenly places,

COLOSSIANS 1:18
18   And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things He may have the preeminence.

COLOSSIANS 2:12
12   buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the
working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

I THESSALONIANS 1:10
10   and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who
delivers us from the wrath to come.

I THESSALONIANS 4:14
14   For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who
sleep in Jesus.

HEBREWS 13:20
20   Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great
Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

I PETER 1:3
3    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant
mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead,

I PETER 3:21-22
21   There is also an antitype which now saves us, namely baptism (not the removal of the filth of
the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ,
22   who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers
having been made subject to Him.

REVELATION 1:5
5    and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the
kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

7/ THE PURPOSE; WHY

ACTS 17:31
31   "because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the
Man whom he has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."

ROMANS 4:24-25
24   but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord
from the dead,
25   who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

ROMANS 6:3-14
3    Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into
His death?
4    Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into  death, that just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5    For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in
the likeness of His resurrection,
6    knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done
away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7    For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8    Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9    knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has
dominion over Him.
10   For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that he lives, He lives to
God.
11   Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
12   Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13   And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present
yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God.
14   For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

II CORINTHIANS 5:14-15
14   For the love of Christ constrains us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all
died;
15   and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who
died for them and rose again.

COLOSSIANS 1:18
18   And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things He may have the preeminence.

I PETER 3:21
21   There is also an antitype which now saves us, namely baptism (not the removal of the filth of
the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ,

8/ A PHYSICAL OR SPIRITUAL RESURRECTION?

LUKE 24:36-43

JOHN 20:19-20
19   Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut
where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and
said to them, "Peace be with you."
20   Now when He said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were
glad when they saw the Lord.

JOHN 20:24-29

9/ EXAMPLE OF A PHYSICAL RESURRECTION

JOHN 11:1
1    Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

JOHN 11:4
4    When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God,
that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

JOHN 11:14
14   Then Jesus said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead.

JOHN 11:39
39   Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him,
"Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."

JOHN 11:44
44   And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was
wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go."

10/ AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE GOSPEL

I CORINTHIANS 15:1-4
1    Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you
received and in which you stand,
2    by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you
believed in vain.
3    For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures,
4    and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

11/ A WARNING TO THOSE WHO DO NOT HOLD THIS DOCTRINE

GALATIANS 1:6-9
6    I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to
a different gospel,
7    which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of
Christ.
8    But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have
preached to you, let him be accursed.
9    As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than
what you have received, let him be accursed.

I JOHN 4:1-3
1    Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because
many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2    By this you know the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in
the flesh is of God,
3    and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.
And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in
the world.
