DO THE SCRIPTURES
CONTAIN WARNINGS TO BELIEVERS AGAINST FALLING
AWAY?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
ROMANS 11:22 NKJV
Therefore consider the goodness and
severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward
you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you
also will be cut off.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-2 NKJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the
gospel which I preached to you, which also you
received and in which you stand,
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold
fast that word which I preached to you--unless you
believed in vain.
PHILIPPIANS 2:12 NKJV
Therefore, my beloved, as you have
always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling;
HEBREWS 6:4-6 NKJV
4 For it is impossible for those who were once
enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift,
and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of God and the
powers of the age to come,
6 if they fall away, to renew them again to
repentance, since they crucify again for themselves
the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
HEBREWS 10:26-31 NKJV
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received
the knowledge of the truth, there no longer
remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgement,
and fiery indignation which will devour the
adversaries.
28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without
mercy on the testimony of two or three
witnesses.
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose,
will he be thought worthy who has
trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the
covenant by which he was sanctified
a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine; I
will repay, says the Lord." And again,
"The Lord will judge His people."
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of
the living God.
REVELATION 2:4-5 NKJV
4 "Nevertheless I Have this against you, that
you have left your first love.
5 "Remember therefore from where you have
fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will
come quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless
you repent.
REVELATION 3:15-16 NKJV
15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor
hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16 "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither
cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My
mouth.
