IS SCRIPTURAL DOCTRINE IMPORTANT IN A BELIEVERS LIFE?

JOHN 7:16-17 NKJV
16   Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
17   "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from
God or whether I speak on My own authority.

JOHN 18:19 NKJV
The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.

ACTS 2:42 NKJV
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking od
bread, and in prayers.

ACTS 5:28 NKJV
saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled
Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!"

ACTS 17:19 NKJV
And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new
doctrine is of which you speak?

ROMANS 6:17 NKJV
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that
form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

ROMANS 16:17-18 NKJV
17   Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the
doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
18   For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by
smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 TIMOTHY 1:2-11 NKJV
2    To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus
Christ our Lord.
3    As I urged you when I went into Macedonia--remain in Ephesus that you may charge some
that they teach no other doctrine,
4    nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly
edification which is in faith.
5    Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and
from sincere faith,
6    from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,
7    desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which
they affirm.
8    But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,
9    knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and
insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of
fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10   for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other
thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,
11   according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

1 TIMOTHY 4:6 NKJV
If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ,
nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

1 TIMOTHY 4:13-16 NKJV
13   Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14   Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on
of the hands of the presbytery. (specific to Timothy, see 1 Tim 1:18)
15   Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to
all.
16   Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save
both yourself and those who hear you.

1 TIMOTHY 5:17 NKJV
Let the elders who rule will be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in
the word and doctrine.

1 TIMOTHY 6:1 NKJV
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, so
that the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed.

1 TIMOTHY 6:3 NKJV
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our
Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,

2 TIMOTHY 1:13 NKJV
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which
are in Christ Jesus.

2 TIMOTHY 3:10-17; 4:1-5 NKJV
10   But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering,
love, perseverance,
11   persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra--what
persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12   Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13   But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14   But as for you, continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing
from whom you have learned them,
15   and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you
wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16   All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17   that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1    I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the
dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2    Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all
longsuffering and teaching.
3    For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own
desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4    and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5    But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your
ministry.

TITUS 1:9 NKJV
holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine,
both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

TITUS 2:1 NKJV
But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:

TITUS 2:7 NKJV
in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity,
reverence, incorruptibility,

TITUS 2:10 NKJV
not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior
in all things.

2 JOHN 9-10 NKJV
9    Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He
who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
10   If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house
nor greet him;
