HOW DO WE BELIEVE?
LUKE 1:3-4 NKJV
3 it seemed good to me also, having had
perfect understanding of all things from the very first,
to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus,
4 that you may know the certainty of those
things in which you were instructed.
JOHN 3:15-16 NKJV
15 "that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have eternal life.
16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
JOHN 5:24 NKJV
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who
hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has
everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has
passed from death into life.
JOHN 5:37-47 NKJV
37 "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has
testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice
at any time, nor seen His form.
38 "But you do not have His word abiding in you,
because whom He sent, Him you do not
believe.
39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think
you have eternal life; and these are they
which testify of Me.
40 "But you are not willing to come to Me that you
may have life.
41 "I do not receive honor from men.
42 "But I know you, that you do not have the love of
God in you.
43 "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not
receive Me; if another comes in his own
name, him you will receive.
44 "How can you believe, who receive honor from one
another, and do not seek the honor that
comes from the only God?
45 "Do not think that I shall accuse you to the
Father; there is one who accuses you- Moses, in
whom you trust.
46 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me;
for he wrote about Me.
47 "But if you do not believe his writings, how will
you believe My words?"
LUKE 16:29-31 NKJV
29 "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the
prophets; let them hear them.'
30 "And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one
goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses
and the prophets, neither will they be
persuaded though one rise from the dead.'"
JOHN 17:20 NKJV
"I do not pray for these alone, but
also for those who will believe in Me through their word;
JOHN 20:29-31 NKJV
29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen
Me, you have believed. Blessed are those
who have not seen and yet have believed."
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the
presence of His disciples, which are not written in
this book;
31 but these are written that you may believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that
believing you may have life in His name.
ACTS 15:7 NKJV
And when there had been much dispute,
Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren,
you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my
mouth the Gentiles should hear
the word of the gospel and believe.
ACTS 17:10-11 NKJV
10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas
away by night to Berea. When they
arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more fair-minded than those in
Thessalonica, in that they received the word with
all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out
whether these things were so.
ROMANS 10:17 NKJV
So then faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God.
1 CORINTHIANS 4:15 NKJV
For though you might have ten thousand
instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many
fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the
Gospel.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-4,11 NKJV
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the
gospel which I preached to you, which also you
received and in which you stand,
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold
fast that word which I preached to you- unless you
believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that
which I also received: that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures,
4 and that He was buried, and that He rose
again the third day according to the Scriptures,
11 Therefore, whether if was I or they, so we preach
and so you believed.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 NKJV
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 TIMOTHY 3:13-17; 4:1-5 NKJV
13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and
worse,
deceiving and being deceived.
14 But as for you, continue in the things which you
have learned and been assured of, knowing
from whom you have learned them,
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy
Scriptures, which are able to make you
wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly
equipped for every good work.
1 I charge you therefore before God and the
Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the
dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out
of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all
longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not
endure sound doctrine, but according to their own
desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for
themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the
truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 But you be watchful in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your
ministry.
HEBREWS 11:1 NKJV
Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
1 PETER 1:5-10 NKJV
5 who are kept by the power of God through
faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for
a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by
various trials,
7 that the genuineness of your faith, being
much more precious than gold that perishes, though
it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory
at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
8 whom having not seen you love. Though now
you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice
with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
9 receiving the end of your faith- the
salvation of your souls.
10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and
searched diligently, who prophesied of the
grace that would come to you,
